This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record of growing contributed revenue and also being hands-on with development and marketing to help take the nonprofit organization to new levels of success and accomplishment.
Summary We are seeking a hands-on, energetic individual to implement a comprehensive relational-driven development and marketing plan aimed at growing and diversifying fundraising and marketing for our nonprofit client. The individual hired will handle marketing and development including grant writing, special events, direct response campaigns and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains consistent and positive communication with Executive Director and participates as a key member of the staff team.
  • Develops and implements the fundraising and marketing plans including but not limited to annual giving campaigns, grant writing, direct mail campaigns, and social media.
  • Creates and implements an ongoing comprehensive development plan to help build a continuous base of giving.
  • Develops a comprehensive prospect management plan including planned direct mail campaigns, website, social media and online campaigns and solicitations, phone calls, tours, and ongoing communication to create awareness.
  • Develops and maintains an effective plan to renew current donations and identify potential donors to be cultivated and focused on giving.
  • Develops and implements the annual grants plan to seek and secure grant and foundation funding year-round.
  • Handles grant reports and other follows up.
  • Develops a donor recognition program to recognize donors and supporters and a plan to implement effectively.
  • Coordinate and create newsletters to be mailed to some and emailed to all.
  • Assist in the planning, writing, development, and coordination of marketing and communications campaigns
  • Acts as principal point of liaison for the organization on strategic and day-to-day administrative matters; and administrative support to the President & CEO Executive Director.
  • Manages the activity of the organization, to include operating budgets, contracts, grants administration, inventory management, payroll reports, travel, purchasing, and/or distributions; human resources
  • Creates individual giving collateral materials including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, website, social media special projects and annual reports
Knowledge and abilities needed to be successful in the position:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies
  • Ability to administer and efficiently process gifts with accuracy and precision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to successfully interface with internal and external publics using tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and implement marketing plans.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize and make timely decisions with sound judgment.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate, as needed.
  • Social Media and Digital Marketing Experience
  • Knowledge of public communications, marketing, and media experience
Position Qualifications: Education, Experience
A strong and sincere desire to work in a non-profit organization with a high level of integrity and professionalism. Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field; some experience in fundraising and marketing, proficiency, knowledge, and experience in Microsoft Office applications, Constant Contacts and administrative practices including database management, website experience using Word Press.
  • Ability to work in a small office environment.
  • Three to five years of experience in communications or public relations capacity as well as a bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • Proven track record.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Graphic design skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional writing, content development, editorial and oral presentation skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.
