$35 per hour, plus incentive.  
This position is the primary grant writer and prospect researcher of funding opportunities for the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grant Writer is responsible for raising financial support from funders requiring proposals, both for unrestricted and restricted revenue. The candidate should have a proven track record in producing successful grant proposals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conducts research on potential funding sources.
  • Advises Executive Director on key funding opportunities and strategies to obtain funding.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure funding from foundations and corporate donors.
  • Write proposals, reports, letters of inquiry, briefing materials for meetings and site visits and other documents.
  • Identify new potential funders including foundations, state and federal sources, corporate funders to grow the giving pipeline.
  • Attend meetings in Boston when necessary 
  • Attend community meetings pertaining to funding opportunities on behalf of organization
  • Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
-Proven grant writing abilities with 5+ years of experience in positions with progressively increasing responsibility.
-Familiarity working with foundations, state and federal funders, as well as corporate and individual donors.
-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time driven deadlines.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize competing deadlines, and be resourceful in engaging necessary staff and resources to find expedient, effective solutions.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
